Restoration

​

Restoration work can include re-pinning the pin block, replacing the pin block, new hammers and other associated action work, along with a complete casework restoration service. Piano Tuning

​

We recommend that pianos in the home be tuned once or twice a year depending on how much it is used. 

For frequent use - twice a year

For occasional use - once a year

​

For a piano used in a concert - as a guide we would recommend tuning before rehearsals and then before the concert as it is essential that the piano is perfectly in tune for the performance.

Servicing

​

As well as tuning, it is also important to maintain your piano by having it serviced occasionally.  In general the two areas of servicing are:

​

> Action regulation - this involves adjusting the action to give an even response and touch.

​

> Voicing - this ensures that the hammers are adjusted to give a clear sound with good dynamic range.
